“We have confirmed that the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam will not cause any damage to the countries that flow,” said Kong Tiptip Gatlak, National Security Adviser to the President of South Sudan.

A high delegation of South Sudanese security and civil officials, who are on a three-day working visit to Ethiopia, visited the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

He stated that issues arising around the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam should be resolved through negotiation. During our visit, he said that the dam is a joint development project and there is no problem.
Ethiopia has started supplying electricity to Sudan and Djibouti. We will start shipping to Kenya soon. Dr. Abraham Bai said that South Sudan also has a need for energy.
Therefore, the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is a project that requires the sacrifices of Ethiopians, but it also benefits the countries in the basin.
He said that in the process of building the dam, considering the downstream countries, we have made two wide water channels through which water flows throughout the year.
Dr. Abraham said, “Our brothers in the downstream countries understand that the construction of the dam is our common development project because it is different in practice.
He also mentioned that Ethiopia’s internal and external enemies have been preventing cement factories from operating, importing inputs from abroad, and preventing the supply of essential inputs.

It is known that Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed announced that the third round of water filling of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam has been successfully completed and the second turbine has started generating power.
