One of his key objectives is to align the image of Addis Ababa with its name, “New Flower.” A significant concern in the city was the shortage of parking spaces, particularly in crowded commercial areas. However, the prime minister swiftly implemented fast and reliable projects to alleviate this challenge.
One notable project is the Unity Parking, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. These include the National Palace, Science Museum, Friendship Square Phases II and III, and the Abrehot Grand Library, creating a seamless connection from Mesqel Square to the library.
In addition to Unity Parking, other projects, such as the Addis Ababa riverside project and an underground parking facility with a 60-meter tunnel connecting it to Unity Park and the Museum, are also underway.
