69 Renovated Homes Renovated in Addis Ababa

In Addis Ababa, 69 vacant houses that have been renovated during the summer are being handed over.

Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abebe handed over the renovated houses.

It is said that before these houses were rebuilt, the residents had been suffering for 42 years.
The construction of these houses was supported by the young investor Munir Keirdin with half a million birr, Bilal Habesha and other investors and the Customs Commission is said to have donated 3 million birr.

“If the people’s cooperation is strengthened in this way, all the villages in Addis Ababa will be beautiful,” she said.

He said the support will continue to be mobilized by Wollo IDPs, Borena drought victims and the Defense Forces.

Dawn Houses Bank officially launched

Gohbet Bank announced in a press statement that it has officially started operations yesterday. It is stated that the bank will provide housing loans to homeowners to alleviate the housing shortage and, as it grows, it will build and transfer capital to the beneficiaries.

Mulugeta Asmare, executive director of the bank, told Bisrat Radio that the bank will work to improve the supply of housing to the middle and lower class. The bank has a registered capital of Birr 1.1 billion and a paid up capital of 521.5 million birr with 6,658 shareholders, he said.

He said the plan provides a 30-year loan for those who want to build and buy a house in the city.

In addition to Addis Ababa, Mulugeta said the bank will contribute to alleviating the housing shortage by opening branches in major Ethiopian cities.
