Addis Ababa Electric Service inaugurates construction of staff center.
Shiferaw Telila, CEO of Ethiopian Electric Service, officially inaugurated the center. Regarding the graduation, he said a lot of capacity building activities are underway to increase the number of female workers, create a conducive work environment, enable them to be effective and competitive in their respective fields and bring them to leadership.
He said the construction of the nursery will not only enable mothers to be more focused and effective, but will also provide closer access to care for their nursing mothers.
He said childcare services have already been provided to the two regional electricity service providers under the institute with the intention of continuing similar activities.
According to Maeza Genet Tsegaye, Director of the Corporate Women, Children and Youth Directorate, it is possible for female workers to return to work after childbirth without any problems.
The building includes a play and dining room, clinic, bathroom, bedrooms, toilet and maternity ward.
In addition, a staff club was built at a cost of 3 million 222,301 birr to improve the working environment.
