16 164,343 vehicles benefiting from the subsidy have been identified
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics has announced that it has developed a system to modernize the fuel subsidy system that will be implemented from next July.
According to a memorandum of understanding signed between the ministry and Ethio Telecom today, He said 164,343 vehicles benefiting from the fuel subsidy have been identified.
It is also said that the system will connect the fuel subsidy to the vehicles so that it can be easily accessed by telegraph.
Deputy Director General of the Road Safety and Insurance Fund, Abdulber Shemsu, said the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. Vehicles benefiting from the subsidy will be able to receive the subsidy by using the unique password provided. He said 860 gas stations have been connected to the system.
So far, more than 140,000 users have registered with Teleber to benefit from the system, he said.
He said the new system has not seen the desired results in Addis Ababa, Adama, Bahir Dar, Wolayita Sodo and Hawassa.
He said the mobile app will be available in Amharic, English, Tigrinya and Somali languages.
Vehicles traveling on average per year, age and capacity of vehicles, type of fuel used, fuel economy and road conditions; Bisrat Radio reported that the subsidy will be implemented with consideration.
According to Tatek Negash, Public Relations and Communication Executive of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, up to six million copies would be needed at a time if the modern system was not implemented.
