The ministry has warned that it will take action against those who violate the cement marketing and distribution guidelines
Addis Ababa: The Ministry of Trade and Regional Co-operation has warned that it will take legal and administrative action against those who violate the cement marketing and distribution guidelines.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Regional Coordination, the construction sector has been challenging the supply and demand of cement.
He also pointed out that the increase in demand for cement due to the low production capacity of the factories and the growth of the construction sector are the reasons for the mismatch between supply and demand.
According to the ministry, the government has been trying to regulate inflation and the trading system due to the fact that some of the cement products, which have been misused by brokers, manufacturers and distributors due to increasing demand, have not been properly traded.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Regional Co-operation:
According to information obtained from the Ministry, the Cement Marketing and Distribution Directive No. 908/2014, which came into force on June 17, 2014, allows government construction projects to receive priority.
The directive covers the functions and responsibilities of cement producers, construction projects, the Ministry of Trade and Regional Co-operation as well as regional and city administrations.
The ministry also warned that administrative and legal action will be taken against those found involved in the sale of cement beyond the scope of the directive.
