Transport tariff adjustment due to increase in fuel and spare parts.

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation announced that the transport tariff has been adjusted due to the increase in fuel and spare parts.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics has revised the transport tariff for vehicles using cross-country public transport based on the adjustment of the price of petrol since June 29, 2014.

The tariff adjustment is as follows:

• In phase one, the existing tariff on the asphalt road is 0.5360 km per person and the new tariff is 0.5600 birr per kilometer. The increase is 0.0240 cents per kilometer.

Step One: The existing tariff per kilometer is 0.6150 and the new tariff is 0.6464. The increase is 0.0314 cents per kilometer.

• Step Two: The existing tariff on the asphalt road is 0.5120 km per person and the new tariff is 0.5420. Increase by 0.0300 cents.

Step Two: The existing tariff on gravel road is 0.5680 per kilometer and the new tariff is 0.6054 birr. Increase by 0.0374 cents per kilometer.

• Level Three: The existing tariff on the asphalt road is 0.4750 per kilometer and the new tariff is 0.5081. The increase is 0.0331 cents per kilometer.

Step Three: The existing tariff on gravel road is 0.5360 per kilometer and the new tariff is 0.5735. The increase is 0.375 cents per kilometer.

The tariff calculation is based on 100 km

• The standard tariff per person per 100 km is Birr 53.60 on the asphalt road and Birr 56.00 on the new tariff. The increase is Birr 2:40 per 100 liters.
• The existing tariff per 100 km of tarmac two vehicles costs Birr 51.20 on the asphalt road and Birr 54.20 on the new tariff. The increase is Birr 3.00 per 100 km.
• The existing tariff per 100 km will cost Birr 47.50 per person on the asphalt road and Birr 50.81 per new tariff.

The increase is Birr 3.31 per 100 km.

Therefore, according to the information we received from the Ministry, the tariff will be effective as of June 30, 2014.
