380 Couples Divorced in Addis Ababa.

Addis Ababa City Administration Critical Event Registration and Information Agency, which evaluated the performance of critical events and residents’ services in the first quarter of the 2014 Ethiopian budget year, confirmed that 380 couples have divorced in three months, Director General of the Agency, Yonas Ayalew, told Bisrat Radio.

Regarding Divorce Registration, there were 100 couples registered for divorce, 114 couples registered for early divorce, and 166 couples registered for temporary divorce.

He also said that 1,587 couples were registered at the time, 306 were registered at the time of marriage, and 1,715 were registered at the time of marriage, for a total of 3608 couples.

He also told Bisrat Radio that the agency has provided 129,562 digital resident ID services in the past three months.

The new commissioner handed over the job.

The newly appointed Commissioner of the Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, His Excellency Samuel Urkato, has handed over his duties to former Commissioner, Tsega Arage.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Samuel (Dr.) said that the fight against corruption requires determination and hard work. Commissioner Samuel (Dr.) also said that they are committed to further strengthening the existing projects, incorporating new ideas and identifying obstacles to work.

He also said that they will work to translate the training given to them by senior management to practical practice. Commissioner Samuel also said that he will work together to prevent corruption and uphold the rule of law.

Former Commissioner of the Commission, Tsega Arage, on his part said the commission has been able to overcome various obstacles and identify issues related to corruption since its inception. He said the commission is expected to work with the community to build ethics and prevent corruption.

The officials and staff of the Commission welcomed the newly appointed Commissioner, Samuel Urkato, while entertaining Commissioner Tsega Arage.
