Ethiopian Maritime Academy graduates sailors.

The Ethiopian Maritime Academy at Bahir Dar University graduated 18 students who were trained as Chief Engineers and Second Engineer Officers on October 10, 2014.

Dean of the University of Bahir Dar Maritime Academy, Captain Charl Coetzee, sends a message of congratulations to the graduates and their families. Today’s graduates are trained as the ship’s chief engineer and second engineer.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Dr. Frew Tegele, President of Bahir Dar University, said the Ethiopian Maritime Academy is the only maritime training academy in Ethiopia and East Africa. He said it will make it a well-known and ancient educational institution.

Dr. Frew said the academy should continue to keep pace with the times, focusing on change, competition and service, both in research and community service.

He said the graduates should be good ambassadors of the country in the field of diplomacy and promote the image of our country.

Finally, Dr. Frew, President of Bahir Dar University, and Captain Charl Coetzee, Dean of the Bahir Dar University Maritime Academy, presented awards and certificates to outstanding students.
