Addis Ababa: June 30, 2013 (FBC) The Fana Lamrot Chapter 7 final match was held in a colorful manner.
The winners of the Phase 7 final of Fana Lamrot were also awarded 500,000 birr.
More than 1,500 young singers from different regions of Ethiopia participated in the screening competition.
Each week, the 12 contestants competed in a live televised concert with a full band, with judges and their own selected songs.
A contestant who scored the lowest score on the SMS and the number of professional judges was bidding farewell every week, leaving four finalists in the third round today.
In today’s live event, vocalist Tadesse won first place and was awarded 200,000 birr.
Vocalist Enoch Tigabu came in second and was awarded 150,000 birr.
Vocalist Benjamin Asnake came third, vocalist Demelash fourth and earned 100,000 birr and 50,000 birr.
Veteran vocalist Tsegaye Eshetu was the guest of honor and presented the prize to the winners.
He shared his career and struggles with the audience. He gave advice on the art of managing fame and professional development.
Fana Broadcasting Corporation’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Semanet Engedaw, who handed over the certificates to the participants, said Fana will continue to strengthen its contribution to the development of the music industry in the country.
The winners of this year’s 3-round competition, including today, will compete for the winners.
A prize of 1 million birr and a special trophy has been prepared for the exciting competition, which will start in a few weeks.
