Addis Ababa City Deputy Mayor, Adanech Abebe is holding discussions with stakeholders and investors on land use and management.
He said efforts have been made to address land issues in the capital and to solve the problem of good governance in the sector.
The Addis Ababa City Administration said it has handed over 138 hectares of land to developers to respond to the growing demand for land in the city.
According to the Deputy Mayor, the Addis Ababa City Administration has decided to allocate land to the Land Bank.
He said the land allocated for various purposes by the city administration should be developed as soon as possible.
He said the city administration is working to solve the land grab and other malpractices and bottlenecks in the land bank, take action against 430 managers and employees and modernize the sector with technology.
Representatives of land-grabbing institutions and various organizations, for their part, said the city administration is committed to transparency, accountability and good governance by transferring land that has been fenced off for centuries to institutions and organizations.
According to the press secretary, representatives of various institutions and organizations have promised to work on the land given to them by the city administration.
