More than 670 million saplings have been planted in the Green Footprint program in the southern region this year

Addis Ababa: The regional agriculture office announced that more than 670 million saplings have been planted under the Green Footprint program in the southern region this year.

Usman Surur, coordinator of the rural development sector in the rank of deputy head of government and head of the regional agriculture office, said that 1 billion saplings are planned to be planted in the region this year.

He explained that until yesterday, he was able to plant 670 million saplings in the region and explained that he was able to achieve more than 67 percent of the plan.

The head also pointed out that 96 million saplings were planted in the region yesterday in an effort to plant 100 million saplings overnight.
