With the motto “Our Footprint for our Children” to plant 6 billion saplings in Ethiopia, the members of the Board of Directors, management and employees of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia planted more than 10 thousand saplings on Saturday, July 23, 2014, in Lemi Kura Sub-city, Addis Ababa. .

Abe Sano, President of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, who attended the sapling planting program at the intersection of the road from the United Gas Station to the Abem Hotel in the Sun Real Estate area of ​​Lemi Kura Sub-city in Addis Ababa, stated that the bank has carried out outstanding works in the field of forestry and environmental protection for the past several years. He said that he participated in the Green Footprint Program which was launched by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed and will be held for the fourth time this year.

This year, Mr. Abe Sano said that more than 500,000 saplings are being planted at the national level. Including this year, the bank has planted more than 2.5 million saplings under the green footprint program alone.

Mr. Abe Banku said that he is an active participant in the Green Footprint Program and is part of the effort to reverse the problems caused by climate change by returning our country to its former glory.

In order for the green footprint program to achieve its intended purpose, Mr. Abe pointed out that in addition to planting saplings, the planted saplings should be cared for and their approval should also be monitored.

Mr. Abe expressed his gratitude to Ylemmi Kura sub-city, Ylemmi Kura sub-city district 13 office and the staff of the bank who made the event a success in different ways.
