The 50th anniversary of the Awra Amba community is being celebrated in the presence of senior federal leaders.
The foundation stone of the community’s multicultural center has been laid.
According to the Minister, the Awra Amba community is a pioneering community that has made men and women work together on an equal footing.
He said the community possesses exemplary values based on exemplary parenting and care for the elderly, based on respect and consultation.
He noted that community values are the foundation of nation building; He said it is a valuable community for the input of the national consultation.
“The Awra Amba community is a golden community that values the best working culture, respect and care in the Amhara region,” said Dr. Getachew Jember, the region’s vice president.
“The values of the Awra Amba community are crucial to the social, economic and political development of the region and the country,” he said.
However, he noted that there are limitations to the value of the community in the region and the country. He said there is a need to expand and enhance these values as well as attract tourism.
In order to achieve this, he said, he will work closely with stakeholders to move forward.
He said the Awra Amba community has gone through many challenges to reach this level.
He said the journey of the Awra Amba community has been full of ups and downs, but the community has reached the 50th anniversary of its founding.
He noted that the community has the continued support of many to come here. They thanked him for it.
The Awra Amba community is known to be located in Fogera Woreda, South Gondar Zone, Amhara Region.
