Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe said efforts to alleviate the basic housing problem of the community will be strengthened.
Mayor Adanech Abebe today launched development projects in Addis Ababa’s Kirkos sub-city.
The projects will build 200 condominiums for low-income communities and will be built on 1,256 hectares of land.
The houses are said to have one, two and three bedrooms, and it is said to have five houses on one floor.
Four nine-story buildings, each with 50 houses, will be built, and 50 houses are expected to be completed in the next three months.
He said the remaining 150 houses would be completed soon and handed over to low-income groups.
The construction, which will cost 82 million birr, will be covered by the city administration and investors and will be carried out by a company called Ovid.
Mayor Adanech Abebe said when he started the construction: The city administration’s main agenda is to alleviate the housing problem of the community.
