Dawn Houses Bank officially opened in Dire Dawa today.
Goh Houses Bank SC opened its first branch in Addis Ababa in October 2014 with the approval of 1.056 billion birr from the National Bank of Ethiopia.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Mayor of Dire Dawa, Harbi Buh, said the housing shortage is one of the major problems facing the administration.
He said the administration will continue to support the housing sector in all its efforts to alleviate the housing crisis.

On his part, he said that the housing crisis in the country has shown that 400,000 houses need to be built annually to fill this gap.
He said he is confident that the bank will continue to support the administration in its efforts to address the housing crisis.
Education sector needs strong monitoring and evaluation
The Ministry of Planning and Development, Dr. Fitsum Assefa, said the education sector, which is expected to help achieve economic growth, needs strong monitoring and evaluation.
The Ministry of Education’s 100 day plan implementation review was reviewed by the Ministry of Planning and Development.
The Minister, Prof. Berhanu Nega, responded to questions raised by the review team during the review of the Ministry of Education.
According to the Minister, the review will require strong monitoring and evaluation of the education sector, which is expected to contribute to the betterment of economic growth.
According to information received from the Ministry of Planning and Development, they said that the review is the main system of monitoring and evaluation of institutions.
