More than $ 90 million was generated from electricity exports
Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) said it has earned more than 90 million USD from the export of electricity in the just ended 2013 Ethiopian budget year.
He said the institute has collected over 13 billion 267 million 104 thousand birr from its domestic wholesale.
Ethiopian Electric Power Communication Director, Moges Mekonnen, said the company has exceeded its target in the last budget year.
As a result, it is planned to get 80 million 787,600 USD from the electricity supply to neighboring countries during the budget year, but 90 million 532,669 USD was obtained.
He said the revenue came from the supply of electricity to Sudan and Djibouti.
In addition to the power supply, the company also sells domestic power to Ethiopian Electric Service, high power utility factories, rail transport service, Ethio-Telecom and similar institutions.
According to Moges, it is planned to collect 13 billion 200 million 774 thousand 591 birr from the bulk of the domestic electricity supply, of which 13 billion 267 million 104 thousand 524 birr has been obtained.

The road from Akaki to Kaliti Masal is 15 km wide by 800 mm and the remaining 13.6 km wide by 125-400 mm.
The authority has so far completed 8.3 km of water line and the necessary inputs have been prepared.
It will cost 66 million 680 thousand birr to change the lines, the Authority said.
The Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority said the line will be completed by the end of next budget year.
