“Happy New Year in Addis Ababa!” The 3rd round of the clean-up campaign was launched.
For the past 15 consecutive weeks, the Addis Ababa City Dry Waste Management Agency has said, “Sewers are drainage, not garbage!” The closing ceremony of the International Sanitation Movement was held today under the motto.
“Happy New Year in Addis Ababa!” Addis Ababa City General Manager, Ato Tiratu Beyene, cleaning ambassadors, cleaners, security forces and various sections of the society were inaugurated at the event.
Addis Ababa City General Manager, Tiratu Beyene, on his part said the work started in the third round should be strengthened in order to maintain the results of the clean-up operation and to ensure the city’s cleanliness as well as to make it a culture of the community.
In the second round of the Comprehensive Urban Sanitation Movement, awards and recognition were given to prominent artists and influential individuals as well as institutions that have shown significant support and cooperation on behalf of the city administration.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Mayor Adanech Abebe, Oromia Regional State President Shimeles Abdissa, ministers and senior leaders attended the event.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who was present at the event, delivered a message: He urged citizens to repeat their commitment to the green fingerprint in other areas as well.
He said 6.8 billion seedlings have been planted in this year’s green fingerprint program. “The success of the green footprint is a testament to Ethiopia’s ability to achieve its goals,” he said.
“We will ensure Ethiopia’s development and prosperity without any challenges,” he said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, on his part said, “We must work hand in hand to ensure Ethiopia’s height by overcoming the challenges we face.”
