In a statement on the problems in the construction industry, the association said it was difficult for contractors to pay their workers.
According to the association’s vice chairman, Engineer Suf Mohammed, The sector is in crisis due to the worsening shortage of construction supplies.
He noted that the shortage of cement and steel, which is crucial for construction, is particularly evident.
“We are forced to suspend projects due to lack of resources,” said Engineer Yousef. He called for a solution to the problem of manpower in the sector.
The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) has also said that the ban on prepayment of banks has negatively affected the ENA, ENA reported.
