Ethiopian Electric Power to build new 8-storey building in Jimma town.

Bureau Director, Dereje Gezahgn, said the 2,500 sq.m. The land used to be the residence of a diesel generator worker.

He said soil research and design work has been completed on the construction site and various works are underway to enter the construction by bidding.

He said 98 million birr budget for the construction of the building will be covered by the institute.

According to Dereja, it is planned to increase the revenue of the institution by leasing it up to the 5th floor for various services.

According to Dereje, it is intended to reduce the cost of rent by removing the one above the 5th floor from the existing rental building and using it for various administrative and service activities.
