It is said that 400,000 metric tons of grain will be imported by the end of December.
National Disaster Risk Management Commission (NDRMC)
According to Debebe Zewde, Public Relations Officer of the Disaster Risk Management Commission, 400,000 metric tons of grain is being imported to alleviate the shortage of food aid.
He said the purchased grain will be imported by the end of December and 300,000 metric tons of grain is in the process of being procured.
Due to the current increase in the number of IDPs, the number of people seeking assistance is said to be high.
Debebe said it would be better for individuals and aid organizations that want to support IDPs to reach out to IDPs.
