Addis Ababa: April 30, 2014 (FBC) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen has sent a message of congratulations on Easter.

In his message, he said that he would like to thank all the Christians for the holiday.

“To maintain the sovereignty of our country at this time; We are at a critical juncture in which we must stand together and stand together in order to remain vigilant and to overcome the challenges we face, ”he said in his message.

He noted that many people had been displaced due to conflict and identity-based violence in the area, adding that meaningful support and prompt response was needed.

He also called on the people to work responsibly to provide immediate assistance to the displaced.

He said the government will continue to strengthen the security of citizens, ensure the rule of law and ensure peace and stability in all areas.

“I sincerely hope that the occasion will be an opportunity for Ethiopian empathy and solidarity to prevail and more unity than ever before,” he said.
