After privatizing Sholla Milk for 66 million birr, MIDROC increased its production capacity from 40,000 liters to 90,000 liters.
It has been working 24 hours a day on an expansion of 41,000 square meters at a cost of 610 million birr and has been able to increase its production by 320,000 liters per day.
The factory now employs about 400 people and has set up 14 milk collection stations in addition to its previous milk collectors.
He also introduced a new plastic bottle of milk.
MIDROC Group General Manager, Jamal Ahmed, said the milk processor is completely free of human touch.
Addis Ababa City Administration Deputy Mayor, Adanech Abebe, thanked MIDROC Group for its work, citing a lack of supply as one of the reasons for the high cost of living in the city.
He said the city administration will provide the necessary support if other investors do their part to solve the problem.
Deputy Chief of the Oromia Regional State, Shimeles Abdissa, on his part said MIDROC Group, a leading producer in Oromia State, has created job opportunities for many citizens in the region.
He said Ethiopia has the potential to become self-sufficient in the agricultural sector and export to other countries, adding that it is still importing most agricultural products.
