Tripartite talks on the Renaissance Dam with the African Union will continue this weekend – Dr. Sileshi Bekele
Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr. Sileshi Bekele, has announced that trilateral talks on the Renaissance Dam will be held this weekend.
The talks will be moderated by the new chair of the union, the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to Dr. Sileshi Bekele, the talks will take place at the request of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s foreign ministers and water ministers.
Union experts, observers and experts from the three countries are expected to attend the talks.
He said the Nile is a transboundary water resource and will be a major source of energy.
In addition to increasing power supply, it also supports development, he wrote on his Twitter account.
He said Ethiopia is committed to the principle of fair and reasonable use of water resources without causing significant damage.
