Road and bridge projects worth over 90 million birr inaugurated in Wolayita Zone
Road and bridge projects worth over 90 million birr have been inaugurated and opened in Wolayita Zone.
Dr. Abebayehu Tadesse, Head of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s Region (SNNPR) Roads and Transport Development Bureau, inaugurated the projects.
He said 105 rural access road projects in the state have been completed within 90 days, adding that 26 of them have been completed.
He cited 11 rural access roads and 2 bridges in Wolayita Zone as examples.
Wolayita Zone Administrator, Aklilu Lema, on his part said the road is the basis of the economy.
According to ENA, the fact that one of the bridges will connect Wolayita and Hadiyan zones will have many benefits.
Mayor Adanech Abebe inaugurated the Wolgeo Water Project, one of the water projects that has benefited the community in the area where the project was built.
Local farmers and elders also expressed their appreciation for the work done by the city administration to benefit the local community.
Legedadi Chapter Two Groundwater Project is the largest and first of its kind in the country.
