The company has earned 22.9 billion birr in six months
The Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise said it has earned 22.9 billion birr in the first six months of the current budget year.
According to Roba Magersa, CEO of the enterprise, the revenue was earned from transporting over 2.7 million tons of revenue.
During the first six months of the current budget year, more than 1.5 million tons of goods were transported by the company using the shipping company, he said.
During the first half of the budget year, more than 71 percent of the exports were packaged locally through the port of Djibouti.
Due to the severe impact of the CV-19 on global trade and the security situation in our country, the organization’s performance is said to be slightly lower than the previous fiscal year 2013 and the 2014 fiscal year plan.
According to Roba, efforts have been made to address the challenges faced in various sectors by purchasing containers, negotiating prices and services with partner shipping companies and implementing other solutions strategies.
In addition to the operational activities, the construction of various construction projects planned to be completed in the first half of the fiscal year 2014 has reached an average of more than 85 percent.
