Over 32 Billion Birr of Cash Register Machine Used by Illegal Companies

The Ministry of Revenue announced that it had seized 63 illegal organizations and 20 cash register machines used for illegal purposes.

An inspection of the machines revealed that more than 32 billion birr worth of invoices or fraudulent transactions had been made.

Umi Abajemal, Director of Communication Affairs at the Ministry of Revenue, told Bisrat Radio that 199 people have been arrested and held accountable for their actions.

According to Article 108 of the Tax Administration Proclamation 983/2008, Birr 8 million and 150 thousand birr were fined.

The Ministry of Revenue has called on the public to cooperate with the nearest tax center and security forces in the event of a suspicious transaction during the transaction.
