Hamlin College of Midwifery graduates 12 students today
Founded by Dr. Kathryn Hamlin and Dr. Reginald Hamlin in 1966, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, which provides free medical services for fistula related to childbirth from all parts of the country, graduated 16 students who trained in the field of midwifery science at Hamlin Midwifery College.
The organization, which has been providing free medical services to more than 60,000 patients for the past 48 years, has started training students in the field since 2007.
Bisrat Radio has heard that the students we have trained are contributing to prenatal and maternity services by assigning them to more than 88 government and private health institutions.
At the graduation ceremony, Esgenet Wudneh, a student who gave birth to 108 mothers during her school years, was given a special award. Today, the sister organizations of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, in the presence of representatives from Australia, England, Sweden and other countries, graduated 16 students who attended the college for the past four years for the 12th time.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Ethiopia’s ambassador to the US, Selshi Bekele, spoke with the US’s special envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Michael Hammer.
During the discussion, the US special envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Michael Hamer, stated that his country would support the peace efforts started in Ethiopia, the ministry announced.
The American diplomat told Ambassador Selshi that his country is ready to support Ethiopians to find peace.
He stated that Ethiopia’s position regarding the Renaissance Dam is balanced, and Ambassador Michael Hamer expressed his hope that the three countries will reach a path that will benefit all of them.
