Commercial Bank of Ethiopia men’s soccer team re-established
The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) men’s soccer team, which was disbanded in 2009, was re-established yesterday, the bank said in a statement.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Sports Club President Ali Ahmed told Bisrat Radio that the bank will take over the men’s soccer team from the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation.
According to the statement, the club was able to re-establish the football club with the help of sports lovers, journalists, stakeholders and the Ethiopian Football Federation.
The President of the Ethiopian Football Federation, Isaias Jira, who was present at the forum, on his part said such elections should be used instead of disbanding football teams.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) President Ali Ahmed said the bank will work to move from the Super League to the Premier League next season.
Senior officials of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation attended the forum and the handover ceremony was completed.
