Mayor Adanech Abebe handed over 69 renovated houses to the needy in Nifas Silk Lafto sub-city.

Addis Ababa City Mayor, Adanech Abebe, handed over 69 newly renovated houses to the needy during the winter season in Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-City.

The Customs Commission has provided 3 million birr for the construction of the houses, with the participation of other investors and volunteer youths.

According to Mayor Adanech Abebe, the plan is to renovate about 2,000 affordable houses in the city this budget year.

“Unity and solidarity are the hallmarks of Ethiopians,” said Mayor Adanech Abebe.

Mayor Adanech Abebe said support for the people displaced by the war in Wollo and its environs, as well as those affected by the drought in Borena, as well as the people of the Defense Forces, will be strengthened.

Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-City Chief Executive, W / ro Nechanet Daba, on her part said 270 low-income houses in the sub-city have been renovated and handed over to residents.

She also said that volunteer work has been done in maintaining peace, sharing food, donating blood and various other activities.
