Who is the new Chief of the Amhara Region, Dr. Yilkal Kefale?
Addis Ababa: September 30, 2014 (FBC) Dr. Yilkal Kefale was born and raised in South Gojjam Zone, South Achefer.
The Achfer community in which they were born and raised has given them the opportunity to become fully human and to grow in knowledge.
In the sixth national and regional elections, he won a seat in the South Achefer constituency on behalf of the Prosperity Party.
His life experience shows that Dr. Yilkal Kefale is a master of calmness and intelligence, patience and humility who grew up with him, a listener and an intellectual.
Dr. Yilkal Kefale holds a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa University. He holds a master’s degree in social anthropology from a prestigious university in India.
Dr. Yilkal Kefale worked as a teacher at Gondar Teachers Education College. He worked at Debre Markos Teachers Education College from teaching to dean.
He served as the Vice President and President of Debre Markos University and played the lion’s share in strengthening the foundation of the university. As a result of this high level of leadership experience, he has been in charge of the Amhara Regional State Education Bureau.
Dr. Yilkal Kefale worked day and night to solve the problems of the region’s education system, working diligently to make the region’s students competitive and to reduce the number of classrooms in the region.
Today, he accepted the great responsibility of serving the people of Amhara and was sworn in as the head of the regional government.
