Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abebe
Addis Ababa City Construction Bureau held a program of appreciation and recognition for the contractors and other stakeholders of the construction sector, who contributed to the development work carried out during the budget year.
Deputy Mayor, Adanech Abebe, on the occasion said more than 7 mega projects have been launched in the city during the current budget year.
The projects will not only enhance the socio-economic activities of the city, but also change the face of the city, she said.
According to Adanech Abebe, out of the total 61 billion birr out of the total budget, 33 billion birr has been spent on various projects.
He said the change that has benefited the residents should be strengthened.
According to Deputy Mayor Adanech Abebe, the contractors, especially the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation and the construction sector, should be commended and encouraged for their contribution to the completion of these projects.
The event was held in and around Addis Ababa Stadium with the participation of more than 50,000 youths.

Prosperity keeps his word, Adanech Abebe said prosperity does not inherit hatred and resentment, but brotherhood and solidarity for future generations.
Addis Ababa Prosperity Party Office Head, Melese Alemu, on his part, said the role of the youth is crucial for the realization of prosperity.
“Prosperity is the party that has made a difference. It is more than ever ready to serve you,” Meles said.
More than 50,000 youths from the city participated in the support program and candidates for the House of Representatives and the Addis Ababa City Council traveled around the stadium to meet the youths.
