Arsenal will host Newcastle at the back of their draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates stadium. Currently Arsenal are sitting 11th in the table two points above 15th placed Newcastle. This is a must win game for the gunners if they are to challenge for the top four and secure European champions league football after four years absence from the copetition.
The game could help Arsenal to build a much needed momentum to close the gap between top of the table and them selves. Manchester United are 13 points clear from Arsenal right now. Where as 4th placed Liverpool are 10 points clear from Arsenal.
In their last eight meetings in all competitions against Newcastle, Arsenal were defeated just once and won the other seven. The most recent game was their win in the FA cup. The game ended with out score after 90 minutes and Arsenal were able to score twice in the extra time.
Arsenal will be hoping to get back highly rated teenager Gabriel Martinelli back in the squad as well Ghanaian international Thomas partey in their lineup for this crucial game at the Emirates. Kieran Tierney is still a doubt to be back in the lineup where as Pablo Mari will miss the game.
Mikel Arteta has backed his young players to push after their recent performances that changed the fortunes at the Emirates.
