Young Ethiopian football star Abubakar Nasser has agreed to play for the South African club.
Last year, Ethiopian Coffee striker Abubakar Nasser has reached an agreement with South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
In addition to playing for the famous Ethiopian Coffee team in the Ethiopian Premier League, Abubakar has been selected for the Ethiopian national team and has played in three matches at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Fekade Mamo, president of the Ethiopian Coffee Football Club, confirmed last night that Abubakar would transfer to the Mamelodi Sundowns club, nicknamed the ‘Brazilian’.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
The club’s general manager, Gezahegn Wolde, told local media that the fee was high, although he did not disclose the transfer fee.
Mamelodi Sundowns, the masters of South Africa’s premier Premier League, have not yet released details of Abubakar’s transfer and other details.
It was also reported that the ‘Brazilians’ could return the loan to Abubakar until the end of the season.
Abubakar Nasser, a 21-year-old footballer, had a trial with the South African national team following the Ethiopian national team’s elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations.
A few weeks ago, the popular football website Gol reported that another South African team wanted to sign Kaiser Chiefs Abubakar.
In the past, Getaneh Kebede and his love for Tefe have played for South African clubs.
