Hawassa Airport: Bishan Guracha Road Construction Completed.
The 35-kilometer Hawassa Airport Bishan Guracha Road Construction Project has been completed and is fully operational.
The road construction project has two parts: the first 14 km from Bishan Guracha to Hawassa Airport.
Hawassa International Airport is expected to be a major source of revenue for Sidama and SNNPR air traffic controllers.
It is said to play an important role in increasing the flow of tourism to Lake Hawassa and the surrounding area, as well as to enable the lake’s large fish market to be marketed in a short period of time.
It is also said that the Hawassa Industrial Park will be used to transport various garments to Hawassa International Airport.
The construction of the road was carried out by the Ethiopian Government Construction Company, China Communication Construction Company, costing 592 million 84 thousand birr.
According to information obtained from the Ethiopian Roads Administration, the Ethiopian Construction Design Supervision Corporation participated in the consulting and supervision.
