Immigration, Citizenship and Citizenship Agency announces expansion of passport offices to 12

Director General, Mujib Jamal, made the remarks while providing training to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff, ambassadors, diplomats, officials, experts from the Ministry of Defense and other relevant agencies on the agency’s online service delivery.

Mujib said the agency has been providing special services to more than 145,000 customers last year.

He explained to the trainees that he has opened new branches in Hossaina, Gambella and Assosa to increase the number of branches to 12.

Ethiopians living abroad and those of Ethiopian descent should use the online option to get the services they need from the agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on its social media page.

Ethiopia, Kenya sign MoU to launch Moyale border service

Ethiopian Customs Commissioner Debele Kebetana, Kenya’s Head of Homeland Security and Kenya’s Head of Mission Wilson Gachokeki have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen trade ties between the two countries.

The agreement was reached in Addis Ababa today and private sector representatives from both countries are in talks.

During the signing ceremony, Customs Commissioner Debele Kebeta on the occasion said Ethiopia and Kenya have a long-standing relationship.

He said Moyale’s border service would not only strengthen trade but also benefit the private sector.

Wilson Gachekeki said the agreement is an important milestone in trade between Ethiopia and Kenya as it facilitates trade, transportation, and citizen movement.

In particular, the construction of the Lapset corridor will increase the economic benefits of the two countries, he said.

Last year, Prime Minister Abi Ahmed and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta inaugurated the Hawassa Moyale Joint Inspection Station.
