It was said that the manufacturing industries in Addis Ababa should fulfill their responsibility to stabilize the market by increasing production and productivity by giving priority to the people and the country.
Senior officials of the Addis Ababa City Administration have discussed with investors engaged in the manufacturing industry in the city on inflation and the cost of living.
Addis Ababa City Manager, Deputy Mayor, Tiratu Beyene, told the forum that the government is providing special support to the manufacturing sector.
He said various industries in the city should play their part in stabilizing the market without disturbing the production of the people and the country.
Addis Ababa City Industry Development Bureau Head, Ephrem Gizaw, on his part said the problems are caused by the transfer of products through brokers, the supply of products only to certain retailers, the expansion of wholesalers’ chains, the storage of products in various places outside of registered warehouses and warehouses. .
To address these issues, he said, the federal-city regulatory task force will take irreversible action against producers who do not improve production and do not respect the business system.
Producers who attended the forum on their part said they will work with the government to improve the cost of living by producing their full potential in the future.
