Work is underway to improve Ethiopia’s international efficiency and effectiveness
A report on the state of business efficiency of the Prime Minister’s Office was presented and discussed by the National Committee.
The Efficiency Program is designed to improve the business system, address the bottleneck of private sector growth, and measure the results of the reform.
The improvement program focuses on making institutions, service seekers, traders and developers more efficient and accessible wherever they are.
According to the report, Ethiopia has improved on 7 of the 10 criteria for efficiency.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Melaku Alebel, on his part said efforts should be made to provide efficient services to the people, create new jobs and grow the economy.
State Minister for Innovation and Technology, Ahmedin Mohammed (PhD), said efforts should be made to address the issue of senior management of institutions, non-response to institutional regulations, and non-compliance with banks.
According to a report released last year, Ethiopia ranks 159th in the world in terms of trade efficiency and is working to make it one of the top 100 in the coming years.
According to information obtained from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, senior officials from various ministries, including Jantar Abay, Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration, were present at the meeting.
