Ethiopia to host international technology expo
The Ethiopian Technology Expo (Ethiopia Technology Expo 2025) has been announced to be held in Addis Ababa.
The International Technology Expo is being jointly organized by the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Information Network Security Administration.
In a joint statement issued by the institutions today, the expo aims to showcase Ethiopia’s potential in the technology sector, making it a technology hub for Africa and the world.
The Director General of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, Worku Gachena (PhD), said that the Ethiopian Technology Expo will showcase Ethiopia’s achievements in various technological fields, including artificial intelligence.
The Director General of the Information Network Security Administration, Ms. Tegist Hamid, said that it will provide startups in Ethiopia with an opportunity to showcase their work on the international stage.
It was mentioned that the work done by the country to ensure digital sovereignty in cybersecurity will be discussed at the forum, and it was also indicated that there will be research papers, panel discussions and technology competitions.
The Expo, which will be held for three consecutive days starting from May 8/2017 at the New International Convention Center, will attract more than 10,000 attendees, according to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute
