How much do you know about Enlightenment Library?
#Ethiopia | With a budget of over 1.15 billion birr; It is a state-of-the-art library of 19,000 square meters and is one of the top ten libraries in Africa.
It has a 1.5-kilometer shelf with 4 floors and can hold 1.4 million books. Contains more than 240,000 paper-free books and 300,000 essays for parents to read with their children;
It has a children’s reading and accommodation area, adequate Braille books for the blind, a modern cafeteria and meeting room, eight book and related shops, an amphitheater and playground, and a secure parking space for 115 cars at a time.
This project was completed in a timely manner and reaffirmed the government’s capacity to implement.
The construction of a modern library in Addis Ababa at a cost of over 1.1 billion birr will significantly contribute to the development of a culture of reading.
The library was inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe.
The Enlightenment Library, one of the top ten libraries in Africa, is divided into four floors and has a 1.4 million bookshelf.
