Addis Ababa: April 30, 2014 (FBC) The Addis Ababa City Administration said that the good results seen in all sectors should be strengthened, the shortcomings corrected and we need to be problem solving leadership to make our work effective, Mayor Adanech Abebe said.

 The Addis Ababa City Administration has reviewed the implementation of the 9-month plan and future directions.

Speaking on the occasion, Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abebe said hard work has been done to make the people safer.

The mayor also said that we should bring results, not problems, adding that the leadership itself should set an example.

Emphasizing the importance of institution building, institutional coordination and system building, Mayor Adanech stressed the need to expand good practices and focus on all leaders and institutions.

Deputy Mayor, Jantar Abay, for his part, said the remaining time of the budget year is too short and the leadership should not do it in a special way.

According to information obtained from the mayor's office, the Addis Ababa City Administration has reviewed the performance of the city over the past nine months with the city's top management.

Good and encouraging work done in terms of peace, strengths and weaknesses in terms of project performance, good performance in waterways, design and construction, job creation, income and education and good performance in the health sector are the major issues identified.

It was also stated that the efforts made to reduce the cost of living have been encouraging and many strong efforts have been made in institutional reforms.

One of the major priorities of the city is to significantly improve service delivery, which will continue to be a focus on improving the cost of living.

According to the assessment, the work to ensure the peace and security of the city as well as the prevention of theft and disorder will be focused and carried out with the participation of the people.

Job creation is another focus, with the completion of existing projects and the expansion of alternative housing supply modalities and capacity building being considered.

Discussing the community on various agendas at all levels and working closely with the people, as well as strengthening the ongoing urban agriculture work and implementing the 4th round of green fingerprinting work in an organized manner from the institutions is yet to be done.
