The Federal Minister of Peace announced that a sustainable and comprehensive peace building program is being designed and implemented to prevent and resolve conflicts in the country.

The Peace Minister of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, in cooperation with the Dredawa city administration, organized an awareness raising forum on conflict resolution and national licensing in Dredawa city.

At the forum, the Minister of Peace, Minister of State Taye Dendea, said that in terms of establishing safe and lasting peace in the country, the minister's office has designed and implemented projects and programs that focus on conflict resolution.

Ato Taye explained that these programs were designed to change this as many areas are still in conflict. He said that the forum is mainly designed for regional and city administration leaders to provide input on these programs.

Although these projects were formulated by the Minister of Peace, they are implemented in urban, rural and district areas, so it was pointed out that it is important to make these projects a joint agenda with regional and city management leaders.

The official said that the existing culture and traditions of conflict resolution, which have been practiced for centuries, have been playing a major role in preventing conflict in the country, but now, due to the erosion of these traditions, conflicts have increased in our country.

The official added that these designed projects will contribute greatly to bring back these values.

Ibsa Ame, the Director of Peace Values ​​Building Directorate of the Administration's Peace and Security Office, said that these projects play a significant role in ensuring safe peace and security in our city.

Ato Ibsa said that the program is mainly about pre-conflict prevention without loss of human life and without destroying a lot of property. He said that the main purpose of this forum is to strengthen the national unity by making international volunteers know the culture and values ​​of our country well and thus to know not only the cultures in their area but also the cultures in different areas.

This forum, organized by Dredawa, is designed to use the experience of our city Dredawa, which faced many conflicts and displacements 3 years ago, as well as the plot made by the junta, to solve it in a peaceful way without seeing many properties.

Mr. Taye Dendea, the mayor of the administration, peace and security leaders of Harari region, Dredewa administration leaders and government officials participated in the program.
