The Ethiopian Institute of Meteorology has warned that there will be unseasonal rains in the central, eastern and northwestern parts of the country in the next ten days, and the ripened crops should be harvested soon.

 

The forecast data shows that the south and southeast areas of the country will experience light to moderate rainfall in the second rainy season of summer.

 

It also indicated that there will be unseasonal rains ranging from light to heavy rains in central, eastern and northwestern areas.

 

He pointed out that in Oromia, all the Wolega zones, Jimma, Ilubabor, Buno Bedele, West RC, all Balena Guji zones, East and West Hararge, Borena zone, West Gojam of the Amhara region, South Gondar, around Bahardar, Awi zone are receiving normal and above normal rains.

 

Benshangul Gumuz Region, Sidama Region, South Ethiopia Region, South West Ethiopia Region, Somali Region, Harari Region and Dredawa in the same way.

 

The above mentioned areas will receive heavy rains that may cause flash floods in a few places, so caution should be taken already.
