The Standing Committee discussed with stakeholders the results of the 2013 National Grade 12 examination

Addis Ababa: April 2, 2022The House of Peoples' Representatives Standing Committee on Human Resource Development, Employment and Technology Affairs discussed with stakeholders on the results of the 2013 National Grade 12 Examination.

Standing Committee Chairperson, Dr. Negeri Lencho, on his part said higher education institutions should be given priority to build the capacity of the institution and increase its credibility as it will shape the future of the country.

For his part, Dr. Keiredin Tezera, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee, said all sections of the society have a responsibility to build institutions and modernize technology.

He said it was inappropriate to isolate the education sector from politics and to undermine the credibility of these institutions.

Members of the House asked questions and comments on the testing and correction process raised by the community from the constituencies where they came from, as well as on the safety of the exams.

The State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. Samuel Kifle, said that after the completion of the 12th grade examinations, the results of the civics examination were revoked after convincing evidence that the civics education exams had passed in the first round.

Teferi Feisa, Deputy Director General of the Education Assessment and Examinations Service, on his part said there was no problem with the results analysis and analysis process in the presence of regional political leaders and education bureau officials.

According to information received from the House of Representatives, the State Minister for Education, Dr. Fanta Mandefro, said that anyone who has a complaint about exam correction and grading can still be treated and transparent if they want to check and verify the process.
