The airline celebrated Cargo Customer Day in Addis Ababa with various programs.

The Minister of State for Transport and Logistics Dange Boru, senior officials of the airline, ambassadors, international cargo customers and other guests attended the program.

At the forum, recognition awards were given to importers and exporters who benefited from the highest level of cargo service.

Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer Mesfe Tase said at the same time; The airline is achieving excellence in cargo services.

They stated that the airline transported 750 thousand tons of cargo to 67 international destinations in the fiscal year 2015.

He said that in order to take the cargo service to a higher level, a cargo center will be put into operation in the month of December, which will be used for goods purchased through the electronic trading system.

He also explained that it is possible to transport goods bought through the electronic trading system to different countries of the world through Addis Ababa and further strengthen the market connection.

The airline mentioned that 30 to 35 percent of its total revenue is collected from cargo services and it was stated that out of the total 6.1 billion dollars of the last fiscal year, 2 billion dollars were collected from cargo logistics services.

It will be remembered that the airline has been awarded for the fifth time in two categories as the best cargo logistics operator of 2023 and the best cargo operator in Africa.
