Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has said that the ABC Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Sports Award should grow at the East African level.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who was the guest of honor at the 4th ABC Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Sports Awards, called for the ABC Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Sports Awards to be held in East Africa.

Prime Minister Abiy called on the company to expand its reach to East Africa and its environs in partnership with other major institutions of the country.

He said the culture of not thanking our heroes is preventing new heroes from leaving.

Regarding the national importance of sports, the Prime Minister said the sport has the potential to inspire and elevate the Ethiopian rope.

He described the heroic athletes who raised Ethiopia and Ethiopianness as a "soft power" that gave the country its name.

He called on the athletes to be prepared for the next Olympics and help solve many of the problems in Ethiopia.
