Note to the Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA)

Dr. Saeed Mohammed

...................

I recently had a kidney transplant with a colleague of my acquaintance. The patient was told by various kidney specialists that they needed urgent dialysis treatment, but they refused to accept the decision (trust the doctors). When he consulted with other specialists before and after him, he told me that although they all had the same decision, they had a hard time accepting the decision and went abroad to consult foreign doctors. Their health is deteriorating day by day and their lives are now in danger until the external process succeeds.

Such experiences are common in every sector of society. But in this process of mistrust between the doctor and the patient, the main victim, as I mentioned above, is the patient (society). Where did this problem come from? However, the root cause of the problem is our media, which exaggerates the medical malpractice that often occurs in the world and exaggerates what is and is not, and even the Ethiopian health professionals are the main culprits.

In my view, the second culprit is the medical community, which has a vested interest in the misrepresentation of health professionals and bullshit rumors. Although there are legal societies in Ethiopia, starting with the EMA in Ethiopia, there are many societies, but all of them play an important role in organizing annual conferences and short trainings. Unfortunately, this practice has long been common in health societies, but it should have been a fundamental function of their members and professions to prosecute their members and professions by prosecuting them for violations of their profession, their profession, or their members.

For example, in a recent interview with artist Hannah Johannes, a black lion hospital patient who had her leg amputated due to cancer, they both exchanged words about how unethical, ignorant, and so on.

To reinforce this point, the patient, in particular, completely transformed the nerve damage that the patient had suffered during the surgery, and, as you can see in the picture, changed the white lie by saying, "They cut off my leg by mistake." I was shocked when I saw the video, but it did not happen. As a result, they survived. For my part, the belief that it is wrong to amputate a leg.
