National Model Micro and Small Enterprises Exhibition and Bazaar Launched

 

Addis Ababa: National Model Micro and Small Enterprises Exhibition and Bazaar has started in Addis Ababa.

 

181 micro and small enterprises, 10 small and medium enterprises and eight enterprises are participating in the exhibition and bazaar that started today.

 

The exhibition and bazaar, which will last until April 15, 2014, is expected to be visited by 22,000 residents of Addis Ababa and its environs.

 

It is also said that the exhibition and bazaar will enable small and micro enterprises to inform the users of the quality and diversity of their products and services and to create market linkages.

 

At the same time, it will enable users to access quality products and services at affordable prices.

 

The exhibition and bazaar was opened by State Minister for Employment and Trade, Nigusu Tilahun, and State Minister for Technical and Vocational Affairs, Dr. Beker Shale.

More than 15 million quintals of fertilizer will be provided to consumers during the production season - Ministry of Agriculture

 

Addis Ababa: April 19, 2014 (FBC) The Ministry of Agriculture announced that more than 15 million quintals of fertilizer will be provided to consumers in the 2014/15 cropping season.

 

It is reported that 12.8 million quintals of fertilizer has been procured this year, of which 4 million quintals has been imported so far.

 

State Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Sophia Kassa, said the government has paid special attention to the purchase of fertilizer inputs.

 

He said 19.5 million quintals of fertilizer is in demand during the current cropping season.

 

He said a large quantity of urea fertilizer, which has not yet been received and has been auctioned off, is also arriving at the port of Djibouti.

 

Director General of the Ethiopian Maritime Authority, Yabbal Addis, on his part said 4 million quintals is still being transported from the port to the country.

 

He said a large quantity of fertilizer has now arrived at the port of Djibouti, adding that adequate preparations have been made to transport the fertilizer to the country.

 

According to ENA, the security situation in various parts of the country has deteriorated due to insecurity caused by importers and unloaders, illegal checkpoints.
