Discussions were held on ways to strengthen the coordination of infrastructure

A discussion was held in Jimma on the problems of the coordination of infrastructure and solutions.

State Minister of Urban and Infrastructure, Fanta Dejen, on his part said the ministry has been directed to ensure the success of infrastructure projects and the integrated development of the sector.

According to information received from the Ministry, the infrastructure sector needs to focus on developing a joint plan with the executive and evaluating its performance.

Ismail Abdella, Director of Legal Framework Preparation and Implementation Support at the Ministry, said the purpose of the forum is to work together to reduce the time and resources wasted due to lack of coordination and to meet the needs of the government and the society.

The report was presented by the Ethiopian Roads Authority, Ethio-Telecom, the Ethiopian Electric Service, and the Construction Management Institute.

During the forum, relevant officials were briefed on the lack of timely payment of compensation, budget deficit and demarcation, infrastructure construction and budget deficit.

The forum was attended by officials from all zones, city administrations and infrastructure institutions from Gambella Regional State, West Oromia and Southwest Ethiopia.
