"Thank you Ethiopians for helping me with your prayers and standing by my side," said the heroic athlete Tamrat Tola in his comments after his Olympic victory in Paris. 

At the 33rd Paris Olympics, athlete Tamrat Tola won the gold medal in the men's marathon race held today. 

Athlete Tamrat ran the distance with a new Olympic record of 2 hours, 6 minutes and 26 seconds.

Hero athlete Tamrat Tola won the gold medal by leading the race from 21 km.

In his comments after the race, the athlete said, "The Creator has heard us today. Thank you Ethiopians for helping me with your prayers and standing by my side."

Although the competition was tough, he expressed his happiness by saying, "Congratulations, I am very happy that I have won by improving the previous Olympic record."  

It is remembered that athlete Tamrat Tola was the distance winner at the World Championship held in America 2 years ago.
